Fun on the OpenSuSE Site

November 23rd, 2006

I’ve been playing around with maintaining some instructions and howtos on Novell’s OpenSuSE site. They use MediaWiki and it’s easy to do. I am seriously considering porting most of my instruction stuff, especially server-side instruction stuff, onto that page. Here’s my page on the Wiki. Also, in case you haven’t seen it yet, Novell also maintains a pretty cool site called LinuxReady. It has an Integrated Google maps showing the location of Novell Linux users. I like it.

On a non-technical topic… I was watching football this afternoon, being that it is Thanksgiving and all, and up pops this Lexus commercial showing a gay couple, with the bow on top of the car and all… I am pretty careful about what I expose my kids to and it cheeses me off to worry about what my kids see during a football game. One can argue that the violence of the game is bad, but the context is controlled. It is frustrating that the need to make money extends to these extremes. I can’t even imagine that gay people are a large marketing segment identified by the NFL so I am confused by the need to put commercials like this on TV during football games.
