Well, I hated to hear it, but apparently AVG Free caved-in to pressure this morning and changed the way their Linkscanner Pro software operates.

Nothing in the press-release section on GriSoft’s website but according to the Techworld article, they’ve apparently moved to a blacklist approach instead of real-time scanning of links.
Well… bad guys won this one. Apparently knowing how many times websites have served up malware-infected pages is way more important than actually doing anything useful about it. Dang shame…
